Castorseed futures up 2.34% on spot demand

Castorseed prices shot up by 2.34 per cent to Rs 4,220 per quintal in futures trade today as traders created positions, taking positive cues from physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in October contracts spurted Rs 98, or 2.38 per cent, to Rs 4,220 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,00,450 lots.

Similarly, castorseed for delivery in November contracts gained Rs 98, or 2.34 per cent, to Rs 4,290 per quintal and open interest stood at 1,26,660 lots.

Marketmen said apart from strong demand from consuming industries in the spot markets, restricted arrivals influenced castorseed prices in futures trade.
