Castorseed prices edged higher by Rs 19 to Rs 4,032 per quintal in futures trade today as operators indulged in raising positions amid a firm trend in line with a firm trend at the physical markets on the back of rising demand.
Marketmen said widening of bets by participants, taking cues from firming spot markets following rising demand, attributed the rise in prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in far-month March contracts improved by Rs 19 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 4,032 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,470 lots.
In a similar fashion, most-active February month contracts rose by Rs 18 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 3,992 per quintal, in an open interest of 8,750 lots.
