The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) today stayed the transfer of additional police commissioner (Law and Order) T Suneel Kumar as IGP and Commandant of Anti-Naxal Force (ANF), Udupi.

Hearing an application filed by Suneel Kumar challenging his transfer, a division bench headed by Judge Shanthappa stayed the transfer, observing it was in violation of the Karnataka Police Amendment Act-2012.

In his application, Kumar had submitted that his transfer has not been recommended by Police Establishment Board, which is as per section 120 B of the above Act.
