Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij today said that catheterization laboratories or Cath Labs for for diagnostic purposes would be set up in five district hospitals of the state under a pilot project.
With the availability of this facility, people would get freedom from costly treatment of private hospitals for heart- related diseases, Vij said.
Apart from this, laboratories would be set up in all hospitals so that people do not have to visit private laboratories for any test, he said.

Facilities like MRI and CT-Scan would be made available in government hospitals, he said, adding such hospitals include General Hospital at Ambala.
He said that arrangements of emergency services along with quality medical services for obstetrics and women's diseases are also being made available in hospitals, with the record of all hospitals to be made online by next year.
With this facility history of patient's treatment, medicines being prescribed, test conducted, record of treatment and other information would be available online so that patient could get himself treated in any hospital.
He said that recruitment process has been started to meet the shortage of staff in hospitals.
Apart from 761 doctors for hospitals of the state, recruitment process has been started for filling up 2,800 posts of para-medical staff and other supporting staff through Haryana Staff Selection Commission, he said.
100 dentists would also be appointed and renovation would be carried out on priority basis in those hospitals of the state where it is required, he added.
