Cattle trader found murdered

A Delhi-based cattle trader was murdered when he was returning after purchasing buffaloes from Fatehabad cattle fair, police said today.

Umardeen, resident of Rajiv Nagar in Delhi was found murdered last evening with a sharp-edged weapon near village Ugalan, about 45 km from here.

Police have registered a murder case against three persons on the complaint filed by the victim's relative, Ali Mohammad.

According to the complaint, Umardeen was going to Delhi in a mini-truck carrying buffaloes, while Mohammad was in another vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle told Mohammed over phone that their mini-truck had stopped due to some mechanical fault, following which he went to the spot, police said
 

Reaching the site, when Mohammed enquired about Umardeen he was told by teh truck driver that the victim had gone to a nearby field to answer the nature's call, they said.

Meanwhile, both the drivers went to call a mechanic to fix the problem.

When neither the drivers nor Umardeen returned till morning, Mohammad lodged a complaint, police said, adding Umardeen's body was found during a search operation in village Ugalan.

Cash amounting to Rs 3 lakh was also found missing from his pocket, police said.

A murder case was registered against three persons including driver of the vehicle, said, Bijendar Singh, SHO Narnaund police station, adding, the accused would be nabbed soon.
