Additional Sessions Judge Virender Bhat asked 26-year-old Ramesh to render six hours of service at Sai Baba Mandir and also asked him to submit to the court a certificate from the temple's managing committee to prove that he rendered services at the temple as per the court order.
"The appellant (Ramesh) shall render services at Sai Baba Mandir, Najafgarh Road, New Delhi on each Thursday from this week, between 4 pm to 10 pm for a period of two months.
The court's order came on a complaint from the temple's managing committee that Ramesh used to reach late.
However, the counsel for Ramesh told the court that on account of some exigencies of his duties, he could not reach the temple by 4 pm on the Thursdays as per the court's January 1 order.
He also submitted that he used to reach the temple at 4.30 PM but the managing committee of the temple did not record his attendance.
"In view of the submissions made by the appellant as well as his counsel, one more opportunity is granted to comply with the directions contained in the judgment dated January 1, 2012," the court said.
The sessions court earlier had asked Ramesh to serve at the temple, setting aside a magisterial court's order of November 2011, which had sentenced him to seven days in jail, beside a fine of Rs 2,000 for riding his motorcycle in an inebriated state.
