To decongest traffic on Kharar- Kurali-Ludhiana road, much awaited causeways along Khanpur Bridge would be completed by June 30 at a cost of Rs 3.3 crore.
Two causeways are being constructed on both sides of the Khanpur Bridge to ease traffic load on it and avoid congestion, PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said today.
He said the old bridge would also be repaired.

The government has set an outlay of Rs 270 crore in the budget 2013-14 to renovate 15 old bridges and Rs 78 crore to construct nine high-level bridges, Dhillon said.
It has also allocated Rs 59 crore for Road-Over-Bridges and Road-Under-Bridges.
He said the state government has constructed 41 ROBs/RUBs at a cost of Rs 740 crore, whereas Rs 301 crore was invested in six high-level bridges during their previous term i.E. 2007-12.
