BJP MP Subramanian Swamy today advised the government to "cautiously assess" a UN tribunal ruling on the row in the South China Sea, saying tomorrow such a tribunal can sit on Jammu and Kashmir.
"The ruling against China by a UN Tribunal over South China sea islands must be cautiously assessed. Tomorrow such a Tribunal can sit on J&K.
"US in a similar investigation in 1986 by a UN Tribunal on the Nicaragua invasion refused to accept the Tribunal verdict," he said in his tweets.
India is "carefully studying" the verdict by an UN-backed tribunal which today ruled that China has no legal basis to claim "historic rights" to islands in South China Sea, the Ministry of External Affairs had said in a statement.
