The CBI today arrested a man for his involvement in the alleged horse-trading activities during the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand in 2012, CBI sources said.

The central investigating agency's Economic Offence Wing (EOW), Ranchi Division, nabbed B N Majhi from an apartment in the city this morning.

The apartment located at Lewis Road in the city was occupied by Majhi's daughter, the officials said.

"I do not know why they arrested me. I have not been given any information in this regard," Majhi, a relation of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Sibu Soren, told reporters here.

Majhi was produced in the special CBI court here, which allowed the agency to take him on remand for three days.
