CBI has arrested a constable of Border Security Force and a proprietor of a coaching centre in Bangalore for allegedly cheating aspirants of constable positions in the force.
CBI has acted on a complaint from BSF which alleged that a constable of Subsidiary Training Centre was allegedly contacting applicants for the constables' positions in the force and probably taking money from them on the assurance of help in medical board examination during the recruitment.
"CBI intercepted the accused at Vidyaranyapura, Bangalore while entering the office of a Coaching Centre," CBI spokesperson said here today.
She said during initial probe, the accused informed that he was allegedly working at the behest of the proprietor of a coaching centre, who had promised him an alleged payment of Rs 30,000 per candidate for clearing them in the medical board examination.
The spokesperson said the constable was serving as the security aide to Chief Medical Officer, BSF, STC, Bangalore.
"Searches were conducted at the premises of accused and others including at the coaching centre. The search of the coaching centre has revealed an alleged job racket being run in the name of the coaching centre for contacting the applicants from UP, Bihar and Haryana," she said.
The official said around 117 fake rubber stamps in the names of various authorities, such as Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tehsildar, Circle Inspectors, PSIs, Medical officers, Principals/Head Masters of various educational institutions etc besides fake voter ID cards, Adhaar cards, PAN cards, educational certificates, income certificates, caste certificates, holograms with state emblem, and cash, to the tune of Rs 50,000 (approx) along with a list of 30 applicants who appeared for medical board at BSF, STC Bangalore on May 12, 2016, were recovered.
