CBI arrests Delhi Police SI, Constable in a bribery case

The CBI has arrested a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector, a constable and another person for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs three lakh from a man for not implicating him in a case with regard to the death of his friend.

A case was registered by the agency on the allegations of the man that Sub-Inspector Amarjeet Singh, posted at Sangam Vihar police station, was demanding Rs three lakh bribe for not implicating him in an enquiry being conducted by him regarding the death of the complainant's friend, sources said.

A trap was laid and Vijay was caught while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant, on behalf of the sub-inspector, they said.
 

The Sub-Inspector and Constable Rajender Meena were also arrested after their role in the bribery case, they said, adding that searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused.
