CBI arrests govt school principal in graft charges

The CBI has arrested a principal of government school here for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 for manipulating the attendance of an employee.

Fakir Chand Sharma, Principal of the Government Co-education Senior Secondary School at Kangan Heri here was arrested when he was allegedly accepting the bribe from the complainant.

"A case was registered against the Principal on the complaint alleging demand of bribe from an employee of the school for manipulating his attendance. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 from the complainant," CBI said in a statement.
 

The accused was remanded to judicial custody.
