CBI has registered a case against the chairman of a private engineering college in Ajmer for allegedly getting AICTE approval for the institute by using fake documents.
The accused, Anil Singh, had allegedly submitted forged and "self-created" documents with the intent to cheat All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and used the same as genuine, CBI sources said.
On the basis of these documents, Singh allegedly got the approval for establishment of the engineering college at Ajmer from AICTE, they said.

The agency had registered a case against Singh and unidentified officials of AICTE on June 25 for criminal conspiracy and forgery. They have also been booked under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
