CBI has booked three officials of Bokaro Steel Limited for alleged fraud in purchase of medicines for medical camps of the PSU.
The agency booked a senior deputy director (Medical Administration) and an assistant general manager and a senior pharmacist, both of Local Purchase Cell of Bokaro Steel for alleged cheating, forgery and provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, CBI spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said they had entered into a criminal conspiracy with partners of a Bokaro-based private firm and with unknown persons during 2008-2009.

"In pursuance of the said criminal conspiracy, the accused cheated the Bokaro Steel Limited by way of making payment of fake and fraudulent medicine bills worth nearly Rs 23.73 lakh to a private firm against local purchase made for Corporate Social Responsibility medical camps in different parts of Jharkhand and Bihar in 2008-09," the spokesperson said in a statement.
The agency carried out searches at the seven residential premises and three office premises of the accused in Bokaro during which several incriminating documents were recovered, it said.
