CBI books pvt company for Rs 15 cr bank fraud

CBI has registered a case against a private company here for allegedly cheating Canara Bank to the tune of Rs 15 crore by forging accounts and loan.

The bank has alleged that Shree Gopala Iron Pvt Limited maintained its accounts with it here but fraudulently disposed off stocks hypothecated to it, the agency said.

The bank has claimed that it was exposed to an alleged financial loss to the tune of Rs 15 crore and interest.

It also said the case has been treated as loss on September 29, 2011.

Based on the complaint, CBI has registered a case of criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery against the promoters of the company and unknown officials of the bank.
