A case has been registered by CBI against former Delhi Minister Asim Ahmad Khan in connection with a case of alleged bribery.

Acting on a complaint received from the Delhi government, the agency registered the case and also carried out searches at three residential premises of the AAP MLA.

"It was alleged in the complaint that there was demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs six lakh from a builder by the minister for allowing him to construct a building in violation of building bye laws," CBI spokesperson Devpreet Singh said.

She said raids were conducted today at two places here and one place in Noida at Khan's premises and a private person which led to recovery of certain incriminating documents.

Earlier this month, the Environment and Food and Supplies Minister was sacked by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over charges of corruption and the case was referred to CBI.
