CBI has closed its probe into allegations of financial impropriety against former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor P K Abdul Azis as it found no evidence against him.

Sources said the agency, which was entrusted the probe last year, did not detect any incident which could have proved that Azis used university funds for his personal benefits.

It was alleged that Azis, as the University head, had committed financial impropriety and knowingly claimed allowances for which he was not entitled.
