CBI conducts raid at SECL employee's house

Acting on a tip-off, CBI officials conducted the raid yesterday at Bhuvneshwar Prasad Mishra's residence in Nourozabad and recovered Rs 44.19 lakh cash, fixed deposits worth Rs 50 lakh, 1.3 kg gold and 8 kg silver ornaments, CBI SP Manish Surti said.

Mishra is posted as a Senior Safety cum Production Assistant at SECL and is also a labour union leader, he said.

Evidence of immovable property, such as a house, plot and 10 acres of agriculture land worth Rs 40 lakh, two trucks, a dumper, a Safari SUV, a jeep and two bikes were also found.

Mishra had also gifted a car each (WagonR and Indigo) to his two daughters on their marriage, he said.

 

The raid was completed early today and final evaluation of his assets is in progress, he added.
