CBI files FIR in recruitment fraud in rural development min

The CBI has registered a case in connection with a fake recruitment notice purportedly issued from the union rural development ministry for various positions soliciting money from aspirants.

The complaint has been received from the rural development ministry in this regard stating that the minister wants that the issued be investigated by a central agency.

The ministry has forwarded an email relating to the recruitment notice purportedly issued by the Land Resources Department for filling up various posts of billing clerk, computer technician, data entry operator, peon etc.

"It has been alleged that money is being solicited in this regard," the complaint from the ministry said.
 

It said the department of land resources in the ministry has mentioned that the email advertisement does not pertain to their department.

There are no sanctioned positions for the posts mentioned in the e-mail, the complaint said.

"Prima facie this case appears to be a case of criminal culpability. The Minister of Rural Development has desired that the matter be got investigated by a central investigation agency," the complaint from the ministry said.

Based on the allegations in the complaint, the CBI has registered a case of criminal conspiracy and cheating and violation of the Information Technology Act.
