The CBI today interrogated Trinamool Congress state general secretary Shankudeb Panda in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
Panda, who was attached to the Saradha Group as a journalist, was earlier summoned by the CBI on November 26, but did not respond to the call.
This morning, however, he suddenly went to the CBI office at the CGO complex in Salt Lake on his own. He was interrogated for hours by the probe agency, a senior CBI official said.
Panda has been asked to appear again before the CBI with relevant documents next Tuesday, the official said.
Journalist-turned-politician Panda was grilled in December last by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which too is probing the multi-crore scam in which several Trinamool leaders have been accused.
