The CBI is likely to question Directorate of Revenue Intelligence Additional DG at Delhi in connection with the seizure of 20kg of gold bars from two women passengers who arrived here from Dubai last month.

"We may have to question Dr John Joseph. But we are yet to take a decision in this regard," CBI sources told PTI.

They said that two customs officers, arrested in connection with the smuggling in of gold bars, had named Joseph during interrogation.

Assistant Customs Commissioner, Anil Kumar, arrested two days ago, had told CBI that it was John Joseph who had sent him a SMS on Apr 14 asking him to provide all help to Faiz, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case.

Deputy customs commissioner, C Madhavan, who was also arrested in the case, had also named Joseph, sources said.

Three customs officers, and four others including Faiz have so far been arrested in the case.
