The special crime branch of CBI, which is probing the Saradha scam, might consider shifting of the case to some other state in view of the huge crowds of supporters during production of accused in courts.

“After seeing the crowd during the production of West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra at Alipur court on Saturday, we may consider shifting of the case to some other state", a CBI source told PTI.

Before and after production of Mitra at the court, thousands of supporters of the ruling Trinamool Congress squatted in front of the court complex and several of them surrounded the SUV in which the minister and a CBI officer were sitting.

“The crowd was rowdy. We have sought better arrangements from the West Bengal Police administration next time when the minister will again be produced on December 16”, the source said.

“Let us see what happens. If the situation does not improve on December 16, then we will have to think otherwise”, the source added.
