The CBI officers who probed Satyam, Vyapam and demonetisation-related cases are among the 28 officers who have been awarded with distinguished and meritorious service medals on the occasion of Republic Day.
A Y V Krishna, Joint Director, Hyderabad had probed infamous multi-crore Satyam scam by investigating complex maze of accounts books and other details and managed to file charge sheet within three months.
His probe saw conviction of Satyam Chief Ramalinga Raju and others along with severe fine.

Tarun Gauba, DIG, posted in Chandigarh was involved in the probe of Vyapam scam which had rocked the political scene as allegations of corruption were levelled in the selection of candidates through Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board also known as Vyapam.
P C Thenmozhi, Superintendent of Police, posted in Chennai has been instrumental in number of cases related to illegal currency exchange following demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes on November 8, 2016.
Gauba and Thenmozhi have been honoured with Police Medal for meritorious service.
Other officers who have been awarded with President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service including Superintendent of Police Sushil Prasad Singh, Additional SP Devendra Singh, Deputy SP Kishan Singh Negi, Inspector Bansi Dhar Tiwari and Assistant Sub Inspector G Satyanarayana.
The officers who have been given Police Medal for meritorious service include Deputy Director (Admin) Gyanendra Kumar Verma, DIG Atul Digambar Fulzele, DSPs K Pradeep Kumar and Pramod Kumar, Inspectors Thakur Singh Bhandari, Surender Singh Yadav, Nilambur Narayanan Srikrishanan, Sachida Nanda Rath and Arjun Vasant Pawar.
Sub-Inspector Shafi Mohammed, Assistant Sub Inspector Digambir Singh Bisht, Head Constables Rajinder Singh, Sukhbir Singh, Shashi Pal, Adu Ram, Mahambir Singh and Virender Kumar Khatri, Constables Kamlesh Kumar, V Balaji, and Bali Ram, Office Superintendent, CBI HQ, New Delhi have also made it to the list of officers conferred with the Police medal.
