CBI sleuths nab bank manager red handed accepting a bribe

Branch Manager of a public sector bank here was arrested by the CBI today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 through a middleman, to disburse the second instalment of a sanctioned housing loan, to a person.

The CBI caught red handed Jagdish Prasad, Branch Manager of Punjab National Bank's Bankhedi branch in Hoshangabad district today while accepting the bribe.

Acting on a complaint by Balmukund Patel, a trap was laid and Prasad was caught red-handed in the presence of independent witnesses, a CBI release said.

Prasad had demanded bribe from the complainant for sanctioning a housing loan and also to disburse the second instalment of the same, a CBI release said.
 

Later, CBI sleuths also searched Prasad's office and residential premises, the release said.
