A designated court here allowed CBI to take an Odiya daily proprietor Madhu Mohanty on 10 days' remand.

The court of Special Chief Judicial Magistrate Padmalochan Satpathy further remanded a local news channel owner Manoj Dash to judicial custody.

The two were slapped charges of having link with Artha Tatwa Group, a ponzi company.

Both Mohanty and Dash had been arrested by CBI probing the multi-crore chitfund scam last night after several rounds of interrogation here.

The judge also heard the bail petition of Dash. Both Mohanty and Dash had moved the bail petitions separately.

CBI today carried out raids at the residences and office premises of Madhu Mohanty in the state capital.
