CBI today told the Kerala High Court that on a preliminary verification they could not find any grounds to register a case in alleged corruption in conducting the 35th National Games in the state.

Earlier, CPI (M) MLA V Sivankutty approached the High Court seeking a directive to CBI to register an FIR on the basis of a complaint filed by him before the Superintendent of CBI at Ernakulam.

He also alleged inaction on the part of CBI in conducting the probe into the corruption allegations.

According to CBI, a preliminary probe conducted by them does not reveal any irregularity by any of the central government officials in conducting the National Games held early this year.

Justice Alexander Thomas adjourned the case to July 2 for further consideration.
