CBI to develop database on law enforcement with help of NLSIU

Aiming to develop updated database in law enforcement related issues, CBI today signed an agreement with National Law School of India University (NLSIU).

"The 'CBI Chair in Law Enforcement' envisioned in the MOU will contribute to upgrading the training content on investigation and prosecution, undertake research in law enforcement areas and devise strategies to strengthen the overall legal and policy environment to combat corruption and crime," CBI Director Ranjit Sinha said on the occasion.

The MoU is aimed at consistently engagement in research in all mutually agreed areas of law enforcement, including criminal procedure, anti-corruption laws, laws and procedures relating to investigation, prosecution and trial.
 

CBI said the MoU envisages to promote undated knowledge database for its use, to devise strategies overall legal and policy environment to combat corruption, to build a think tank for its activities in the area of law and enforcement; to develop suitable 'training module' and 'training programme' in the areas of relevance for it.

"The MoU proposes to strengthen the working capacity and build an enabling environment for the CBI," it said.
