CBI will collaborate with Gujarat Forensic Science University for capacity building of its investigative officers in the field of interrogation during criminal probe.
An MoU was signed today in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, CBI Director Ranjit Sinha said the MoU is an expression of convergence of will of the two leading institutions to collaborate substantively in the intended common areas of action to enhance academic knowledge.

"The MoU seeks to establish collaboration for the purpose of identifying new areas for application of forensic science, including behavioral science, forensic nanotechnology, computer forensics and forensic pharmacy in the fields of criminal investigation," CBI spokesperson said here.
She said the MoU also aims at providing enabling platform for capacity building of CBI officers, Central Forensic Science Laboratory scientists and other officers attending CBI Academy.
According to the CBI director, all the three stakeholders -- CBI, Central Forensic Science Laboratory and Gujarat Forensic Science University would benefit by holding joint training programmes in the field of application of forensic science in criminal investigation.
J M Vyas, Director General of the university said that this is the first MoU GFSU has signed with any investigating agency.
He added GFSU will help CBI in upgrading its existing forensic laboratory.
