Refuting Congress' charge of "political vendetta", Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said the CBI had taken action against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh after collecting evidence against him in the disproportionate asset case.
"The CBI swung into action after collecting evidence against the Congress chief minister," Naqvi said and added that the party was merely creating a hue and cry over the issue.
Naqvi also slammed the Congress alleging that "the party and corruption were wedded to each other" and it was proved by raids by the CBI on the residence of Virbhadra Singh and 12 other places.

Taking a dig at the grand alliance of Congress, JD(U) and RJD in Bihar, Naqvi said, "The triumvirate has proved that they would not hesitate even if the wider primary interest of the people were sacrificed for quenching their thirst for power."
"Cracks have started emerging among the alliance partners due to discontent over seat sharing," he said.
Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had left the alliance due to the way his party was treated and many more were on the verge of leaving as for merely 243 assembly seats the number of aspirants was in four figures, he added.
Taking a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Naqvi said, "Only sabbatical suits him and since he knows that well instead of campaigning in election-bound Bihar he has gone somewhere else."
Naqvi also expressed hope that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi India's relations with Pakistan would improve and also alleged that the neighbouring nation had been cornered by world democracies due to the terrorism flourishing there.
