"Instinct", starring Alan Cumming, has been cancelled at CBS after two seasons.
The series saw Cumming play the network's first gay protagonist as Dylan Reinhart, a psychology professor and author who begins profiling killers in New York City after a serial killer uses his book as inspiration for murders, reported Variety.
Series creator Michael Rauch announced the cancellation on Friday on Twitter.
"I'm very sad to relay the news that @instinctcbs won't be renewed for a third season. We will double up this Sunday and our season/series finale will be Aug 25," Rauch tweeted.
He also thanked Cumming and Bojana Novakovic for being a part of the show.

Novakovic, who plays Cumming's partner Lizzie Needham on the show, shared her disappointment on the microblogging site.
"Well this s**** b****. But when one door closes another... actually f*** that. This s**** b***. Love to all our fans and the most incredible cast and crew. Thank you all for an incredible two years," she wrote.
The show, based on James Patterson's novel "Murder Games", will end on August 25.
