The District Consumer Redressal Forum in Shamli has fined a school at Jhonjhana town and the CBSE board for allegedly not providing transfer certificate to a student, officials said today.

On the complaint of the student Jasbir, the forum imposed a fine of Rs 45,000 on Decent Public School and Rs 5,000 on the CBSE, officials said.

The forum also directed that the amount must paid to the aggrieved student, who passed class X exam from that institute, within 30 days, they said.

In his complaint to the Consumer Redressal Forum, Jasbir alleged that the school leaving certificate was not provided to him, without which he could not get admission in another school during the 2005-2006 academic year, they said.
