Fair trade regulator CCI has rejected allegations that Sony India and Hewlett Packard India Sales indulged in anti-competitive business practices.
The Competition Commission of India's (CCI) rulings came in two separate cases, broadly pertaining to alleged deficiencies in after-sale services.
The complaint against Sony India as well as New Delhi- based Glitch System and Service Point was filed by one Eena Sethi.

Rejecting the complaint, the CCI said the "dispute in question between the informant and opposite parties primarily appears to be a consumer issue relating to the sale of a defective product and deficiency in the provision of after-sale services which do not reveal any competition concerns".
CCI also said the informant may approach appropriate forum for redressal of her grievances, as per a recent order.
In the case of Hewlett-Packard India Sales Pvt Ltd (opposite party), the allegation was that it abused dominant position as only authorised service centres sell the spare parts while independent entities are denied access to the same.
The complaint was filed by one Trend Electronics, which is into business of selling computers, among others.
In its recent order, CCI noted the complainant appears to be aggrieved by the purported deficiencies in the after-sale services provided by the opposite party with respect to laptops purchased by it.
"With presence of other prominent brands, it appears that consumers in India have adequate choice and the OP does not enjoy a position of strength required to operate independent of market forces.
"Accordingly, opposite party does not appear to hold dominant position in the unified relevant market," CCI said while dismissing the complaint.
