Fair trade regulator CCI has rejected allegations that Janta Land Promoters abused its dominant position in the market for industrial plots in Punjab.
In a complaint with the CCI, Ohm Value Services Ltd had alleged that Janta Land Promoters had imposed unfair and one-sided terms and conditions in agreements related to allotment of industrial plot at sector 82, Mohali in Punjab.
In an order dated October 27, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said that it found "no prima facie case" of violation of fair trading norms by Janta Land Promoters.

"Since there is no information available on record and on the public domain to show the position of strength of the opposite party (Janta Land Promoters) which enables it to operate independently of competitive forces prevailing in the relevant market, prima facie, the opposite party does not appear to be in a dominant position in the relevant market," CCI said.
"In the absence of dominance of the opposite party in the relevant market, its conduct cannot be examined under the provisions... Of the (Competition) Act," it added.
The Commission also observed that presence of other firms in the market indicated that the complainant had the option to switch to other players.
