Central Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, today intensified search operation in the Barka-Sayal underground mine to trace two workers trapped after water gushed into the mine on Wednesday.
CCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Gopal Singh, Director Personnel R S Mahapatra, Director Technical and Operation Subir Chandra, and Director General of Mines Safety Mihir Chaudhary visited underground mine of Barka-Sayal area in Ramgarh district and ordered to intensify search operation for safe recovery of the missing miners, an official of Barka-Sayal mine area said.
As many as six workers were in the coal mine during the incident.

Six mines rescue teams were deployed inside the mine for search operation after the incident occurred yesterday morning and four more rescue teams entered the mine today, an official said.
Deputy Director of Mines Safety, Ranchi region, MK Gupta told PTI that Directorate of Mines Safety has directed CCL authorities to intensify search operation with more rescue brigades and increase number of heavy power water pumps for dewatering.
