The Nitish Kumar cabinet today approved a proposal to install CCTV cameras in 1056 police stations across Bihar.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the cabinet presided over by chief minister Nitish Kumar here.
The state cabinet gave its nod to a proposal of the Home department to install CCTV cameras in 1056 police stations in 40 police districts and 14 Rail districts.

Installation of CCTV cameras would help check criminals indulging in making extortion call and entering into other illegal activities from behind the bars.
