Resuming its ongoing drive against illegal structures in the city, the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) today pulled down two temples built on government land inside residential complexes at Markat Nagar here.

With this, the authorities have now demolished at least 13 places of worship in the locality over a period of two years. The CDA had identified 35 illegal temples in Markat Nagar, which have come up encroaching government land.

While trusts of at least 12 temples have obtained stay orders from the Supreme Court, the CDA authorities claimed they were determined to pull down all the illegal structures encroaching government land.
