"The bullet which killed Mahtab on July 16 during oath taking ceremony of Chairman Nagar Panchyat Mohammad Riyaz Ansari was fired from his gun by one Danish. An FIR has been registered against Ansari and Danish has been arrested", Superintendent of Police (Rural) Vinay Yadav said.
Taking note of the incident, Circle officer, Bisharatganj has been removed while five policemen including SHO, Bashiratganj have been suspended, sources said here.
Celebratory firing, which is banned in the state, took place during the oath-taking ceremony of the Chairman.
