Cell phones recovered from looters

as many as 68 mobile phone sets were recovered from four persons engaged in looting cell phones.

The worth of 68 mobile phone sets of different brands was estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh. Police also seized cash Rs 20,000 seized from them, said SP (Berhampur) Sarthak Sarangi.

The accused persons identified as A. Chanti, Kishor Mallick, M Sisir, A Kanta of Bhanjanagar and Sayed Mustaq of Berhampur.

All these accused persons were working in the various motor garages in the town. On October 23, they had looted around 48 mobiles from a mobile shop at Gandhi Nagar, 12 sets looted on October 22 from a shop in Goshaninuagon area, police said.
 

They sell the looted mobile sets in cheap rates in the market. The cash Rs 20,000, which was seized from Chanti, was availed by selling the stolen mobiles, SP said.
