Portraying the archetypal Common Man and the typical jitters he faces in daily life, 'A Wednesday' director Neeraj Pandey now wields his pen for 'Royal Bengal Tiger' casting Tollywood superstar Jeet and popular actor Abir Chatterjee together for the first time.
"I have known Neeraj even before A Wednesday. And wished to work with him for long. Royal Bengal Tiger is the story of Common Man, his everyday problems where Abir plays the prototype character and me his uncommon friend," Jeet told PTI.
Taking pains to explain that the film, directed by Rajesh Ganguly, doesnot tread the middle path, as an art house work, Jeet said, "Royal Bengal Tiger is a hardcore masala work having realistic elements which will make the audience see their own selves in the mirror.

Asked about the title of the movie, Jeet, whose Grassroot Entertanment had been part of several new film projects including this one, said, "It has nothing to do with the Big Cats. It is all about unleashing the tiger sleeping within ourselves."
Recalling how Niraj was involved with the making of the film, Abir said, "He was present during 80 per cent of shooting and he always came up with suggestions so much focussed he was."
Abir, who essays the archetypal common man in the film - said, "The film shows how we compromise with slights and insults everyday and get used to it."
"This is the journey of 'Aam Admi' and if he can effect the turnaround ," Anjan Dutta's Byomkesh said about Royal Bengal Tiger, which he termed a very sensible mainstream film.
"For me script is the king in real sense in Royal Bengal Tiger," Neeraj Pandey said.
"I would rather keep my stories grounded, A Wednesday, or Special Chhabis or this one," he said to a question.
Produced by Neeraj and Viacom 18, Royal Bengal Tiger will hit the screens on January 31.
