A Regional Director of the Central Board of Film Certification here was today sentenced to one year Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) by a CBI court in a bribery case.
Special Judge for CBI cases R Killivalavan also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on D Rajasekar, a 1998 IFS officer, who was the Regional Director of Censor Board in 2010.
Based on a complaint, CBI had registered a case and trapped Rajasekar on July 27, 2010, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for viewing a film expeditiously and for issuing certification.
The CBI had filed a chargesheet against the officer under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
