Centenary Film Festival inaugurated in Shillong

The film festival was inaugurated by the chief secretary, WMS Pariat in the presence of film actors Moonmoon Sen and Ria Sen besides local films actors and directors and other dignitaries.

"Cinema is one common platform to project the 'unity' that is there in the country irrespective of caste, greed, religion and up-bringing.

This is one of the strength of cinemas making us to realize that we are one and are not different," Pariat said.

Lauding the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for choosing Meghalaya as the venue for this celebration, he said, "bringing the celebration of the Film festival to the state is to expose our local talented youth to the technique and strategies in the present which is seen in the technological development that is taken place in the cinema world.
