India's Eastern Territory of the Salvation Army today began its centenary celebrations here today.
The day Lt Colonel Kawlkhuma, a Mizo and pioneer Salvation Army officer arrived in Aizawl, hundred years ago from Shimla after completion of his officer's course.
The celebration function held at Dengthuama Stadium in Aizawl was attended by the head of the International Salvation Army General Andre Cox and his wife Commissioner Sylvia Cox from London and state governor Lt General Nirbhay Sharma.
The function included prayer and worship and music by different music bands belonging to several corps of the Salvation Army.
