Central security agencies are assessing the threat to suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his social activist wife Nutan Thakur.
"Some IB officials met me and Amitabh at our residence seeking information about our concerns regarding security and other threats that we perceive," Nutan said here today.
She said the couple apprehended threat because of their social activities for quite some time which increased after she made a complaint to the Lokayukta against state mining minister Gayatri Prajapati and now after Mulayam Singh Yadav's telephone call.

The Uttar Pradesh government had suspended Thakur on July 13, hours after he approached the Union Home Ministry in New Delhi seeking a CBI probe into the rape case slapped against him.
The IG-rank officer, who is ever since locked in a tussle with the state government, was served a 200-page charge sheet and a vigilance inquiry was initiated against him.
Thakur had stirred a political storm by releasing the text and audio of the conversation purportedly carrying Mulayam's voice.
