Central assistance for school kitchen devices may be revised

The HRD ministry today said that there is a proposal to revise norms for providing Central Assistance for kitchen devices in schools.

In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, HRD minister Smriti Irani said that the Centre provides Rs 5000 per school to states for procurement of kitchen utensils as well as for replacement of kitchen devices every five years.

"There is a proposal in the Ministry to revise norms for providing Central Assistance for kitchen devices linked to enrolment in schools," she said.

In a written reply to another question, Irani said that as per census 2011, there are 9,36,36,111 people in the country who speak Urdu.
