Central engineers may tab water supply between Delhi, Haryana

With Delhi facing severe water shortage, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her Haryana counterpart Bhupinder Singh Hooda met here in a bid to resolve the dispute but failed to end the deadlock with both sides sticking to their respective positions.

Highly placed sources told PTI here that engineers from the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Upper Yamuna Board could be deputed at the sites from where Haryana releases water to Delhi.

Similarly, engineers would also be posted at sites in Delhi which receive water from the neighbouring states. This would help tab the actual water quantity supplied and received. (more)
