The person, a Service Tax Inspector was arrested on a complaint from an advertising and event management company owner, who said he had demanded the bribe for waiving off Rs 3.75 lakh which was reportedly to be paid by him as penalty for
violation of certain service tax rules.
A trap was laid and the officer was nabbed while accepting the bribe, CBI press release said
A case has been registered under section 7 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DSPE) Act against the officer, it said
The bribe was allegedly to be shared with a superintendent of service tax and him, the release said.
Searches are on at the office and residence of the accused.
