A senior Excise Department official was today arrested in a raid by Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a trader, an official said.
Superintendent of Central Excise Department Prabhu Dayal Beniwal had demanded the bribe to settle penalty and other taxes' adjustments of a Bidi and Grocery store trader Ramesh hailing from Bigod in Bhilwara district, the ACB official said.
Meanwhile, ACB sleuths in Jaipur began searches at Beniwal's residence in Custom Colony, the sources said.
The accused was booked under Anti-Corruption Act, they said.
