"It is not that Yeddyurappa wanted his choice of leader to become the next CM but the fact is that majority of the elected representatives wanted a change and they chose Shettar. I think the central leadership has endorsed that," BJP spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar said here.

The party central leadership has unanimously chosen Shettar to head the government and one cannot term him as Yeddyurappa's choice, he said.

Dhananjay said he don't think there would be frequent frictions in the party as "Shettar is a seasoned politician having lot of administrative experience".

"Shettar has worked in Speaker and ministerial capacities. A person who is liked by one and all will be able to carry on as the Chief Minister till the next elections," he said.
