The Nagpur division of Central Railway has earned revenue to the tune of Rs 2,533.06 crore for the year 2013-14 as against Rs 2,430.31 crore last year showing a rise by 4.2 per cent, an official release said.
The division recorded Rs 1,699.31 crore earnings from freight in 2013-14, which was Rs 1,584.86 crore in the corresponding period in 2012-13, showing an increase was 5.3 per cent, a release from Nagpur division of Central Railway, said here today.
Similarly, on the passenger front, the division recorded Rs 391.16 crore in 2013-14, as against Rs 331 crore the previous year. The growth was 18 per cent.
A highest growth of 25 per cent was recorded from ticket checking activity as Rs 10.57 crore were collected by the ticket checkers in 2013-14, as compared to Rs 8.45 crore in 2012-13, the release added.
