Three separate wards have been opened in Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital to treat dengue cases. Of the 166 patients undergoing treatment as on May 23, most are children under 16 years, officials said.
As the death toll due to dengue fever mounted to 29, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had yesterday asked officials to take measures on a war-footing to contain the fever and asked the people not to panic.
